font-size: 14px;">是这样，如果一个国家诽谤自己最棒的公民，把他们囚禁起来，这样的国家不会成为伟大的国家。如果一个国家惧怕让刘晓波这样的人自由地发言，这样的国家不可能被称为“强大”。一个令人生畏的政权同时也是脆弱的政权。</p><div> </div><div>这样的想法可能会令中国爱好者们恼火，多年来，他们一直预测这个国家崛起为全球第一大国只是时间问题。这是一个基于小学数学方法的地缘政治分析：美国的<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.CD?year_high_desc=true" style="color: #004276; text-decoration-line: none; outline: 0px;">国内生产总值</a>是18.6万亿美元，如果它继续以每年低于2%的速度增长，而GDP为11.2万亿美元的中国继续以每年6％的速度增长，那么中国将在十年内超过我们。</div><div> </div><div> <span style="font-size: 14px;">滴答，滴答。</span></div><div> </div><p style="line-height: 24px; font-size: 14px;">那么，再说一次，趋势与现实之间是有差别的。经济学家保罗·萨缪尔森(Paul Samuelson)曾于1961年<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2010/01/soviet-growth-american-textbooks.html" style="text-decoration-line: none; color: #004276; outline: 0px;">16年以来的最低点</a>。中国的劳动适龄人口正在萎缩，仅在2015年就失去了近500万人。去年中国的资金外流达到了6400亿美元；中国的上中阶层正在通过对房地产的选择用脚<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.scmp.com/week-asia/society/article/2095827/why-are-middle-class-chinese-moving-their-money-abroad" style="text-decoration-line: none; font-size: 14px;">创造力需要自由。各种创意需要竞争与冲撞的空间，不受社会和法律的处罚。随着经济走向创新前沿，对自由的需求也相应扩大。可用信息与必要信息之间的差距需要尽可能地收窄。许多经济上必要的信息同时也是政治信息，这使得审查与镇压同经济动态发展的要求难以相容。</p><p style="line-height: 24px; font-size: 14px;">刘晓波明白，没有政治改革，中国经济的现代化模式注定会失败：这种远见卓识是令他入狱的《<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.cecc.gov/resources/legal-provisions/charter-08-chinese-and-english-text" style="text-decoration-line: none;
